These terms are an agreement between you and Kevin Petersen, the independent developer of The Light's On ("we" or "us"), about using The Light's On. By using the app, you agree to them.
The Light's On is offered in the United States and is made for adults 18 and older.
The Light's On is a tool for remembering loved ones and finding comfort while grieving. It is not medical care, therapy, or a crisis service, and it does not diagnose or treat any condition. The guides are general information, not professional advice, and the app asks you to acknowledge this before you read them. If you are in crisis or thinking about ending your life, call or text 988. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
Everything you create in The Light's On belongs to you. We don't claim ownership of your memories, photos, recordings, or writing. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to save and share what you add, such as photos of other people.
Please share thoughtfully. Don't use The Light's On to harass anyone or to share content that is unlawful, hateful, or harmful. When you share something, the people you share it with can keep their own copy.
We work hard to keep The Light's On running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Because your content is stored in iCloud, its availability also depends on Apple's services. We encourage you to download backups of what matters most.
The Light's On is free. There are no purchases, subscriptions, or ads. Comfort and safety features, including crisis resources, will always be free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Light's On is provided "as is," and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Some states don't allow certain limits on liability, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
We may update these terms and will let you know in the app before important changes take effect. You can stop using The Light's On and delete your content at any time.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your state that can't be waived by agreement.
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple's standard terms for App Store apps also apply.
