Privacy policy
Last updated October 21, 2026
This policy explains what information Puzzleweight Champ (“the app”) uses, why, and the choices you have. The app is made by Kevin Petersen (“I”, “me”). If you have a question, email kevinpetersen2110@gmail.com.
Information the app keeps on your device and in your iCloud
Your progress (levels, stars and coins), the items you own and use, your settings, your stats, the player names you enter for pass and play, and any match in progress are saved on your device. If iCloud is on for your Apple account, they're also saved in your iCloud so they follow you to your other iPhones and iPads. This data is stored by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. It isn't sent to me, and I can't access it.
Game Center
The app uses Apple's Game Center for the daily puzzle leaderboard, the online rank leaderboard and online matches. When you're signed in to Game Center, Apple shares your Game Center display name and a player identifier with the app. With Game Center:
- Leaderboards: your daily puzzle score and your online rank points are posted to Game Center, where other players can see them with your Game Center name.
- Online matches: the match itself (the settings, each player's puzzle results and scores, the look you chose for your player, and any preset emojis or quick-chat lines you send) is stored by Game Center and shared with the other players in that match. There is no typed chat.
- Invitations and nudges: when you invite, rematch or nudge someone, Game Center sends them a notification with your Game Center name.
Game Center is run by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. You can sign out of Game Center, or change who can see you and invite you, in your device's Settings under Game Center.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob: a full-screen ad between some puzzles, and optional ads you can choose to watch for bonus coins. To show ads, limit how often you see them, measure them and prevent fraud, Google's software in the app may collect:
- your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking when the app asks;
- your IP address and approximate location based on it;
- device and app information, such as device model, operating system version and language;
- how you interact with ads, and diagnostic information such as crash data.
Google uses this information as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy. I don't receive this information about you; I only see overall reports such as how many ads were shown.
Your choices for ads
- Tracking: the app asks permission before Google can use your advertising identifier. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, you still see ads, but they aren't personalized based on your activity in other apps. You can change this any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- European Economic Area, UK and Switzerland: the app shows Google's consent message before personalized ads. You can change your choice any time in the app under Settings > Privacy choices for ads.
- Remove ads: a one-time purchase turns off the ads between puzzles. Ads you choose to watch for bonus coins stay available.
Purchases
Coin packs and Remove Ads are sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment, and I never see your payment details. The app receives a record of the purchase from Apple so it can add your coins or remove ads, and to restore Remove Ads on a new device.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app schedules reminders on your device when your online turn is running out. These are created on your device; no information is sent anywhere to make them.
What the app doesn't do
- No accounts, sign-ups or passwords of its own.
- No analytics or tracking of its own.
- I don't sell your information, and I don't collect your contacts, photos, precise location, or health data.
Children
The app is designed for a general audience and isn't directed at children under 13. I don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, email me and I'll help.
Keeping and deleting your information
- Game progress: deleting the app removes it from your device. To remove the iCloud copy, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage, and delete Puzzleweight Champ's data.
- Game Center: you can remove finished online matches in the app, and manage or delete your Game Center data with Apple at privacy.apple.com.
- Google: you can manage your Google ad settings at myadcenter.google.com, and reset your device's advertising identifier by turning tracking off for all apps.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in the European Union, the UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. Because I don't hold your game data myself, most requests are handled through Apple or Google as described above. For any question or request, email kevinpetersen2110@gmail.com and I'll respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes I'll mention it in the app's release notes.
